In Perth, we slept in jail. We actually chose to sleep in a jail. We stayed in the Fremantle YHA that is within the female wing of an old prison. It was actually a very nice, clean spot! The rooms were small but sunny. We wandered through Fremantle along the water front and rented some bikes. The downer was that it was election day so the Rollercoaster of emotions was heightened. It was strange being 12 hours ahead and seeing the the polls move against Hillary and for Trump. Rented bikes from the visitor center and rode around Fremantle for a few hours. While the day was beautiful, we were in a bit of a depressed fog given the election news in the US. But we made the best of the day, stopped in the old school and popular coffee shop, and that evening did a somewhat morbid tour around the prison. It was a night tour so they tried to make it scary. It wasn't but good effort. It did make us realize more than ever that misguided people are barbaric, especially when it comes to punitive measures. Hoping and praying we have progress on this front. We ended the night at a yummy sushi place. I enjoyed it for once! Hop off and hop on boat. Zoo and a walk around Watsons Bay.
Paste it somewhere!
