DAY 1

Oct 11 2016

This trip was quite an anticipation for me and my workmates over the past few months, and finally it already happened. This shouldn't have materialized due to some reasons, but we still managed to push through. My excitement actually doubled since this will be my very first time in this place so-called as one of the best islands in the world -- Palawan.
The company that I am working in right now, especially the department I belong, annually holds a sort of Team Building and/or Resort Ocular. Since this is a company activity, the management shouldered our expenses, from the food, to the transportation, and yes, airfare as well (I love this trip! Everything [almost] is free! 😂).

Upon arrival at Puerto Princesa Airport, we were fetched by a mini-bus/coaster of Astoria Palawan. When everyone seem settled inside, we proceeded with our itinerary of visiting some of our tie-up hotels. We were also welcomed warmly by the staffs of The Legend Palawan, prepared us a delighting snack, and gave us our pre-ordered banana bread (Php170), which was already featured in ABS-CBN's Rated K.

We also managed to squeeze in some pasalubong shopping, since there was no other time to do so.

We were warmly welcomed by our Astoria Palawan Front Office Department upon arrival. We registered according to our room assignment, made some brief introduction to each other, and took a group picture, ate our late lunch, before heading into our respective rooms.

We got to rest for a short while, but simultaneously prepared for our activity for the afternoon; and that is to experience the newest attraction of Astoria Palawan -- Waterpark By Astoria.

The water park is operational everyday, from 9AM to 6PM. It has several sections, however other areas were still under construction as of writing. Here are the areas that we have experienced:
1. Velocity Aqua Slides; 2. St. Paul River Ride (also called the Lazy River); 3. Surf's Up Pool (also called the wave pool); 4. Tumbling Buckets Kidzone; 5. Vortex Slides; 6. Marine Sanctuary (also called the Splash Pad)

After enjoying what the water park has to offer, me and my officemate Sushy took the chance to enjoy the swimming pool as well, while our roomies went first to take a bath and prepare for dinner.

The rest of the night was spent for our department's team building exercises.

DAY 2

Oct 12 2016

Some of my officemates (most of them the senior ones, and by senior I mean seniority at work 😂) were the first ones to go back to Manila. I belong to the group who happened to stay for the day and fly back to Manila by evening, to experience one of the seven wonders of nature.

To get to the Underground River, we rode a boat from Sabang wharf going to the island where the river is located. As we pass through the waves crashing onto the majestic rock formations, I was certainly in awe (like the whole time 😍).

We were then escorted by our 'bangkero' towards the preparation area. We were given this walkie talkie-like device with a headset plugged on it. When everyone got their respective devices, we were directed to the waiting area near the Underground River itself, a 5-minute walk from the prep area.

When it was already our turn, we excitingly hopped in our assigned boat. They only allow 10 persons per boat and considering we are a total of 11 persons, we begged for the guides to allow us go altogether. Maybe they noticed that most of us are so thin and slim, they decided to allow us go in a single boat 😂

After an hour, we concluded our tour of the cave and went back at Sabang wharf to grab lunch. Me and my officemates, Sam and Marique, also took the opportunity to try Tamilok or woodworms. I have already tried eating some sometime in June last year during my trip to Aklan with my college classmates; I ate a total of 6 then. #throwback #TamilokQueen 👑😂 Now I only ate 2, considering the price and number of worms included in our purchase.

So, that's pretty much of my short trip to Palawan. I thank the Lord for giving us such a wonderful creation to appreciate and to enjoy. Although I was very much 'bitin' with this trip, I absolutely had a lot of fun. I promise I will come back real soon. El Nido or Coron, perhaps? 😉
